About me
Curent role: For the past year, I have been working as a research assistant in Martin Dresler’s Sleep & Memory Lab at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour and RadboudUMC. My work primarily focuses on coordinating research on lucid dreaming, including two large-scale at-home sleep studies using wearable EEG devices, of which one requires coordinating with sleep labs world-wide. I am also a member of the early-career consortium of the Research Hub Neuroethics in Germany.
Academic background: I graduated with a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrück, Germany, in October 2025, majoring in both neurooscience and philosophy (GPA: 1.2, excellent). During my studies, I also took courses in neuroimaging and neurostimulation at the Center for Mind and Brain Sciences (CIMeC) at the University of Trento, Italy, and in the philosophy of neuroscience at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My master’s thesis investigated the neural correlates of sequential episodic memory. The project involved MEG data collection and processing, including time-frequency analysis and cluster-based permutation testing. During my studies, I published an infographic on dream hacking to a cognitive science student journal. Previously, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Natural & Social Sciences, majoring in the brain & cognition track of psychology, at the University of Amsterdam in 2021 (GPA: 7.5 in the Dutch grading system, good). My bachelor thesis concerned a behavioral data collection on grapheme learning with synesthetic letter-color associations, and statistical testing. I also completed an interdisciplinary group research project on creativity, which focused on developing skills in interdisciplinary research and integrating different fields into coherent research frameworks. Before university, I completed pre-university education with additional extracurricular coursework in German and European orientation.
